F.A.L.L.

fall

Do you have a favourite season?  I do –  F.A.L.L.  And.. we are now entering that glorious season.  Thanksgiving is arriving and the leaves are beginning to change. Pumpkin spice lattes are in stock and family get togethers are starting.  To me, F.A.L.L. not only represents God’s beauty in how stunning our country is, but F.A.L.L also represents Family And Loving Life.  All things to be grateful for.

Stepping into Fall fills my soul with so much joy.  I love the crisp mornings and the warm afternoon sun.  I love the vibrant colours in the trees and the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon candles burning. I love throwing on a comfy sweater and sipping on a pumpkin spice latte while going for a walk in the woods.  Fall is a special season for my heart.

F.A.L.L is also special for me.  With Thanksgiving occurring in only a few days, I have recently stopped to think quietly about what I am grateful for.   Two huge aspects of my life that I am so grateful for are:

Family

Loving Life

My family means the world to me. My immediate family, as well as my extended family.  I am so grateful for these people in my life:

  • My husband who adores me and loves me.  Who is strong, handsome, knowledgable and gifted in so many ways.  Who is the rock of this family and would walk through fire for us.
  • My daughter who is amazing at teaching others.  Who is not only kind and loving, but has a heart filled with faith, compassion and joy spreading that onto others with her beautiful smile.
  • My son who is so gifted at helping others.  Who is driven and strong, but so kind and calm.  Who can light up a room with his smiley eyes and fill our hearts with his humour.
  • My dad who has always been my number one fan.  Who is one of the best golfers I know and who will always lend a hand to anyone in need.
  • My sister in law who will make everyone feel welcome in her presence and drop everything to bring you a care package if you are in need.
  • My brother who always treated my own children with kindness and love taking the time to listen to their stories when they were younger.

F.A.L.L may be filled with the beautiful trees, cooler weather, pumpkin spice lattes and football movies (Sidenote: my favourite football movie is We Are Marshall), but to me… F.A.L.L  is about Family and Loving Life.

Why should we Love Life?

It’s hard not to love life if you are grateful for the gifts God has given to you.  I am so grateful for the life God has given to me.  He gifted me with an amazing family, great health, a career that helps others and a pace that allows me to enjoy the life around me.  I strive every day to uplift someone, make someone smile or laugh, help someone in need and tend to the needs of my family.  Giving back to others in this way creates such joy, peace, and happiness within my soul.

Isn’t that what Thanksgiving is about?  Being grateful for those around you?  Giving thanks for the blessings God has gifted you?  And giving back to your loved ones or those in need?  If the opportunity arises for you this holiday; help out a friend or loved one, make someone smile simply by your company or lending an ear, and remember give thanks to God for the blessings He has provided to you.  I guarantee your heart will be overflowing.

So, this Thanksgiving what will you be grateful for?

For me… I am grateful for F.A.L.L.
