Lioness

When you look around – in stores, the shopping mall, TV shows – what do you see?  Do you see distinct differences between men and women?  Or do you see a blur of ‘same’.  A gender-neutral world of blah instead of the vibrant world of feminine women and strong men.

We live in a society where people are trying to prove that women can do anything and everything a man can do.  Women are beginning to lose the unique qualities that sets us apart from men.  We – us women – were created in a beautiful feminine way and designed to not do everything a man can do.  We were created to be a Lioness not a Lion. 

What are the characteristics of a Lioness?

1. Fearless – she portrays no fear
2. Hardworking
3. Huntress – provides
4. Lithe – graceful
5. Maternal
6. Powerful – has a strong effect on others
7. Protective
8. Proud – of her pride (family)
9. Prowling – moves quickly – behind the scenes
10. Regal – she is beautiful and royal

We can compare those qualities to that of a woman and we will find we are:

1. Fearless – we will go after our dreams
2. Hardworking – we can keep a tidy home and work full time if necessary.
3. Huntress – We will provide for our family and keep them healthy
4. Lithe – we are feminine and graceful
5. Maternal – we are a definite mama bear
6. Powerful – If our family is messed with – watch out
7. Protective – nothing will stand in the way of our children
8. Proud – our family means the world
9. Prowling – we often don’t take credit for everything that gets done
10. Regal – We are beautiful and royal

We need to celebrate that we are women.  

We need to celebrate that there are men out there who are (or will become) our husbands.

We need to celebrate our son’s who should be able to grow up to be the ‘man’ of the house – protective, strong, a leader.

We need to celebreate our daughter’s who display grace and beauty with such a beautiful glow shining onto all who meet her.

God created us to be different.  Not the same.  Men and women both possess wonderful qualities to balance and support each other.  Where one may fall short, the other will rise strong.  Those qualities were created in us in order to excel in life.  

If we were all ‘sames’ where would that get us?  I picture a world of blah.  No unique characteristics or beauty.  No tough rugged strengths or talents. Everyone would be as one.  

I am unsure why today’s society has shifted to this concept? But!  I pray that in time, we will see the colour of uniqueness seep back through.  Maybe young ones today don’t feel worthy or loved?  Maybe they compare themselves to others too quickly?  Maybe they have lost their ability to think for themselves because social media is so in their face?  I do believe though, that the generation who will step up and push through this world of blah will become one of the most influential generations of our times.  

It just takes one! Will that be you?  How can you begin to shift this world of same?  How can you become the Lioness that you were created to be?

Embrace your feminine side

Dress classy, elegant, sexy, and lady-like – you are stunning
