Final Boarding Bliss

Are you planning a Caribbean vacation soon? Heading to Punta Cana in the near future? Well, we had the pleasure of discovering the private lounge area at the Punta Cana Airport on one of our last vacations and it was like an extended paradise after being pampered for a week – a final boarding bliss.

On one of our last holidays – Secrets Tides – our Air Transat Vacation package included entry to the private VIP lounge at the Punta Cana airport. We have travelled to Punta Cana many times and did not even realize this Terminal B luxury existed. What a treat!
With our package, we received a voucher for the lounge. It was easy to find being situated at the far end of the airport – in Terminal B. Walking up, we simply handed the concierge our voucher and he took our flight information and proceeded to explain what was available to us.
Entering this exquisite lounge, we peered upon a full bar – stocked with an abundance of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, plenty of seating and dining chairs, an outstanding buffet lunch spread filled with plenty of hot and cold dishes, washrooms, an outdoor area decked out with lounge chairs, showers, as well as a pool overlooking the runway. Simply spectacular!

We sat in the complete comfort of cushioned chairs with a well-working WIFI system, washrooms at hand, as well as unlimited snack/lunch selections instead of the hubbub and busyness of other travellers waiting for their flights. We did not take part in the swimming or outdoor lounging, but other patrons waiting for their flights did.
This newly addition to the Punta Cana airport is a spectacular amenity for those wanting to extend their luxury comfort from their excellent resort holiday.
Sidenote: We didn’t dive into the exact cost of this option for those without a voucher included in their all-inclusive package. However, a quick Google search suggests that access to the VIP luxury lounge is available for around $50 USD per person.
We have noticed a significant increase in travel over the last couple of years and when walking into the terminal B gate area and seeing the large crowds, the lack of seating, the wait for restaurant services or even feeling the heightened stress of uncomfortable travelers, the cost of being able to use this VIP lounge area is well worth it (in my opinion anyhow).
So, if you are travelling with Air Transat for your next all-inclusive vacation (unsure if Air Canada or other carriers offers this perk as we usually travel to Punta Cana via Air Transat), be sure to check your package inclusions or simply inquire with your travel agent for the VIP lounge details. Why not extend your luxury comfort just a moment longer – you certainly deserve it!
