A Beautiful Heart
If someone asked you what makes you beautiful? How would you answer? Would you think about your outer beauty? Or, would you think about what’s inside – a beautiful heart? How would you rate your beauty?

Now that summer is approaching, I see so many ads popping up on social media about beauty products, outfits trending, or how to minimize those fine lines. Ok, maybe my algorithms are pushing some of those with what I search LOL, however – It’s that time again—when the world insists on telling us what beauty should look like.
I recently read a devotional called What Makes You Beautiful. For those struggling with outer beauty or even for those needing a heart check – this is a good one. It’s actually a good one for ALL ages – young and old and especially those drawn in to stressing about the outer YOU rather than how beautiful your heart is.

Is true beauty defined by how you look? What you wear? What you are good at? What your talents are? Or how popular you are? Today’s world would say YES. We can see that by all of the advertisements pushing beauty products, what to wear, and how many ‘likes’ we have that makes us special. The world tells us to compare and that we are less than if we aren’t following the new trend of the day.
Deep down, I am sure you know and realize that this is NOT true! If you don’t, please know that you are beautiful, worthy and enough – just who are you! These ‘trends’ may makes us feel better for a moment, but that will fade. No season lasts forever and no earthly beauty lasts forever.
What truly matters is the beauty that resides within your heart. This is the source of genuine radiance—where real beauty begins and shines outward.
Does that mean we shouldn’t appreciate beautiful things? Of course not. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the aesthetic pleasures around us. But what truly shapes our lives is our perspective, not the products we use or the trends we follow.
Just as the seasons change and pass, we still treasure each moment they bring. In the same way, even though outward beauty and material gifts may fade, they can still bring joy.
Yet the beauty that holds real value—the kind that endures—is the one found in a kind, loving, and gracious heart. While it’s perfectly fine to enhance our appearance with makeup or stylish clothes—and as mentioned in a previous post, dressing for success does have its place—these external things are temporary. They are not the whole story.
Lasting beauty comes from within, and it’s that inner light that leaves a timeless impression.
So, as you go about your day today, let your inner light shine. Move through the world with confidence, knowing that your beauty runs deep – in your beautiful heart. You are filled with grace and your presence radiates warmth and kindness. When you embrace that truth each day, others won’t be able to help but see that incredibly beautiful person you were created to be.
