52
On this fine Wednesday morning, the sun took its 52nd trip around the sun. Can that be right? (I need to think about that again for a second). Today, I am 52! Funny thing is, I don’t feel 52. My daughter and I were just talking about that the other day – how we seem younger than we actually are. We feel inside, that we have a child’s heart.
I think my family would agree, I certainly don’t act my age. Well, at times I do, but on a regular day to day, I am joking with my adult kids, on the floor at work with babies, dancing strange and weird in the kitchen and coming up with bizarre statements or thoughts trying to support my opinions (which are all so outrageous and laughable).
I do believe, if you feel young, you are young. I know 52 is not ‘old’ however, I see people on a daily basis who are younger than I am and ‘seem’ so much older. I often ask myself, what is going on in their lives to ‘harden’ them?
For me, I feel I have always had a light spirit, a joyful way, and a content heart. I could get along with anyone, meet new friends fast, and forgive or let go of someone’s quirks quite quickly. Maybe that has allowed my inner self to stay ‘young’. Whatever it is, I will enter 52 full of happiness, contentment, love and joy.
I have so much to be grateful for and every day I feel the ‘gifts’ in my life provide me with an abundance of joy:
- A husband who loves me unconditionally and cherishes me daily
- A son and daughter who each have a heart of gold; full of kindness for others
- A dad who is strong, healthy, and funny
- A brother who amazes me with his golfing skills
- A sister-in-law who goes out of her way to help others
- Friends who I can lean on day in and day out whether they are near or far across the border
What more could anyone ask for? Those are the gifts worth cherishing. My family and friends are angelic gifts to my soul. I cherish them, appreciate them, and honour them daily.
As an aside… speaking of Angels – for fun, I looked up the meaning of 52. The number 52 is quite significant.
It symbolizes alignment and the angel number of 52 is a powerful number that also signifies change, balance and harmony – angels telling you that you are in the right place at the right time.
Another definition with the angel number is that it’s your guardian angel sending you a sign or message to help guide you on your path [towards your goal and purpose], encouraging you to let go of any doubt you have and stay true to yourself.
Wow! After writing in a previous blog about purpose, maybe the angels are telling me that I am exactly on the correct path in this fifty-second year? Maybe whatever purpose that God is directly me on will come to light this year? It seems that 52 is firm in stating that I am to let go of any doubt and stay true to myself.
So, here I go! This 52nd year will be the most amazing year filled with plentiful gifts, experiences, and adventure. This path (or rather highway 52) is exactly where I am to be and I will proudly take in all that comes my way.
As I reflect on this week’s thoughts and insights about turning 52, and as I celebrate my special day surrounded by the love of my family, it feels only fitting to share a quote from Dr Suess’ beloved book – “Oh the Places You’ll Go!”:
