Happiness is being together again, where we belong… Anonymous
How was your summer? Did you take any time to rest and rejuvenate? Did you have any fun family time? Or couple adventures? Or, did you have some well-deserved stay-cation activities exploring your own city or town? Whatever you did this summer, I hope some memories were created.
Why are memories important? According to psychologs.com, memories are important for a variety of reasons:
- They work like cues bringing back happiness as we recall special moments.
- Create positive emotions – love, happiness, and joy.
- Strengthen difficult times – thinking about a good memory can distract you and provide strength.
- Can build strong relationships – reminiscing positive memories can build strong and happy relationships therefore creating a closeness.
- Can reduce stress – by creating a coping mechanism to a sense of happiness.
- Enhance mental health – thinking about positive memories can decrease depression and anxiety.
- Enhances values – remembering fond memories – the good old days – helps us understand values and what is important to one’s life.
- Promotes gratitude – reminds us to be thankful for those within our memories.
- Shapes identity – making happy memories can make us understand our place in society and builds our identity and worth.
- Fills you with love – memories tap into that spot inside that fills you up with warmth and comfort.
Throughout this summer, we certainly made some new memories and we certainly had many special moments reminiscing on fond memories. Each moment creating joy, laughter and connection.
Below are a few snippets of the moments and memories made this summer.
Regardless if you took a trip of a lifetime, a family outing to the zoo or park, or even relaxed in the comfort of your own backyard – enjoying each day, doing something fun, having a few laughs with family and friends and possibly trying something new can all create that memory snapshot that will become a fond memory one day.
Why not begin this new fall season creating moments that you can one day share with your grandchildren. I know I will (not that I’m at that stage of life yet).
I’m excited to be back in your inbox or social media feed and to share with you some of my summer memories and moments which have inspired some amazing blog content for this 2024 – 2025 season. Happy Fall. Now get off your chair and go make a memory.
